Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound Review

With high performance and overclocking cooling demand has increased and they need to be cooled to maintain performance and stability, with heatsink and water cooling blocks can achieve higher cooling but without  best performing thermal compound it is of no use.

Arctic Silver 5 is one of the latest, most advanced, and best performing thermal compound available on the market.

About packaging

There is no packing to syringe which is unexpected from such premium and high-quality product.

About Arctic Silver 5

Arctic Silver has high density contains over 88 % thermally conductive filler by weight. along that, it has micronized silver and other things.

Arctic Silver 5 does not contain any silicone. The suspension fluid is a proprietary mixture of advanced polysynthetic oils that work together to provide three distinctive functional phases

Review

I used this thermal compound on my old Intel Core 2 Duo Processor which was running hotter when on idle. The temperature was around 47-53C.

After applying thermal paste didn't see much difference on initial use but after few days temperature dropped by 2-4C.  Arctic Silver5 Thermal compound takes 200 hrs of curing time. In that time,  thermal compound melts from heat generated by CPU while running, filling microscopic holes. When allowed to cool down it gets set in those holes giving maximum thermal conductivity between heatsink and CPU.

At the end, it is costly but does what it should do effectively and it is better than thermal compound applied by computer store which are always of cheap quality.
